Made from a family recipe, Tio Zé products are full-bodied, aromatic and deliver a lingering citrus flavour with a slow, satisfying burn. We take pride in being 100% natural with no added preservatives, artificial flavours, colourants, emulsifiers or stabilisers.
Authentic – Our process is slow, meticulous, and packed with tradition because there are no shortcuts when it comes to making original piri piri.
Artisanal – Made in small batches, each bottle is made by hand using only fresh, high-quality ingredients: African bird’s eye chillies, fresh garlic, fresh lemon juice, non-GMO sunflower oil, a blend of spices, and fleur de sel (salt).
No compromises – no shortcuts ever, such as bottled lemon juice, vinegar, water, canola oil, or pre-minced garlic. No preservatives or additives.

Product Overview
Tio Zé products are vegan, gluten-free, dairy-free, carb/keto-friendly, low sodium and no added sugar.
Tio Zé’s flavour and heat profiles live on in both our original 250ml bottles and our newer 260ml jars. The jars came about because many customers told us that the first thing they did after receiving their order was tip the sauce into a jar — it’s simply easier to spoon out than pour.
So we listened. But when we told everyone we were moving to jars, just as many said, “Wait… we love the bottles.” Lesson learned: assumptions are the mother of most mess-ups. So now, we have both.
The only real difference is the texture. To make the most of the jar’s wider opening, the “smoosh” is chunkier — dialling up that full, hearty, Tio Zé experience.
